  • shaft flex

My wife recently bought me a new driver. cobra unlimited 370.

It has a stiff flex and my swing speed is around 73.
Can anyone tell me whether or not this is the wrong club for me? Is it possible for a guy with a relatively slow swing speed to use a stiff shaft?

    Gary,

You would probably do much better with a Senior or Regular shaft. Usually 80 is the lower limit on a regular shaft. For your swing speed I would recommend a Harrison SL50.

You can use the club with a stiff flex, but with your swing speed you will probably notice that more likely than not you will slice the ball and you will not get the distance you should be getting with the club. You will find that with a senior's flex shaft you will find your best fit, as Golf Bald mentioned. Using a senior flex shaft will keep you swinging smoothly and comfortably instead of you trying to increase your swing speed to match your shaft.

        stiff flex

Thanks guys. You just confirmed what I suspected myself. did'nt feel right at all. Although would you beleive, my local pro told me the stiff shaft might help with my consistency off the tee, help keep me straight.
