    Robbed again,

I am suprised no-one has threded this yet, Sky Sports have sold us golfers down the river 'again'.

In the UK if we want to watch the PGA Golf then we have to subscribe another £15.00 per month for the privilage, to watch the European tour we already pay £30.00/50.00 depending on your Sky TV package.

We used to get Both on Sky TV, now the PGA has been removed, p.s for your £15.00 you also get the Scottish Premiership, great if your Scottish not much use to us lower regions.

    Unhappy to say the least.

i agree ian, you get the full package and then get told you have to pay extra for programs that you use to get in the package.
maybe if enough of us dont pay the extras then they will change.

No great loss at the end of the day guys, saves us paying to listen to the commentators sucking Tiger off on air. Coverage has been getting progressively worse over the last 10 years all you see now is a couple of drives then you get to watch someone take 10 minutes to hit a 3 foot putt whilst they eulogise about Woods a bit more.

Does anyone else long for the days when the BBC just had a couple of cameras on the last 6 holes so you could watch the business end of everyones round?

You are better with highlights online now.

        hi mizunoman
i do agree that what i see of usa golf tend's to show a few drives and then them on the green putting, think the covarage in uk does show more shots from tee to green and gives a better overall view of the playes game. think the covarge of the ryder cup was really good too and the open is always good and covers as many playes it can in the time aloud.
i hate to only see the leading 3/4 playes in 5/6 hrs of covrage.

The BBC still have a bit of class about them Bill, but even they have succumbed to the trend of 50 cameras and no time to show anything cos they feel they have to use every camera to get their moneys worth.

My favourite phrase of last year was Sky TV's Euan Murrays' phenomenonally sycophantic

'How lucky we are to live in the time of Tiger Woods'

How horrid is that??? Makes you want to puke, fair enough, he's the best but in fairness who else is there to watch? Els and Singh are dull as dishwater, Mickelson is horribly apple pie and american dentistry, Sergio is simply awesome tee to green but his putting makes me want to cry. Everyone else is just a carbon copy collegiate system robot.

            hi mizunoman
i did enjoy the coverage of the sen/tour last year and seeing sam torrance doing so well.
i think i was lucky in watching some of the best playes in the world on tv and all were at there top of there game in the 70s and 80s,
all had diffrent swings and the likes of nicklaus, trevino, plamer, player. kite, irwin, watson, floyd, norman, seve, lyle and faldo.
like you say so many playes are now out the same mold.

Totally agree with you Ian - we golfers have been stung again, I subscribed to the Setanta package last weekend on my main Skybox card, later on when I went to watch it in bed - no Setanta golf!

If you have two or more skyboxes in the house guess what? - its an extra £7.50 per box!! - that's £22.50 a month!

I also agrre with MizunoMan that the coverage goes on and on without showing enough tee shots/fairway shots, all the coverage/action seems to be centered around the green.

I took out the three month trial and the way I feel at the moment - I won't be renewing!

You can't beat golf on the bbc - no adverts and Peter Aliss! - there's quality (but sadly not enough quantity)

I totally agree with you on this one as I too am un happy with sky based on their lack of coverage. There is however one good piece of news which I found out about by accident after a night out. The good news is that channel five do show the PGA tour but the bad news is that its on at 3am in the morning and they are about a couple days behind with the match time, but hay at least its some free golf tv.

                Cheers
