I just thought that I would post this as it seems odd to me, but I am not complaining too loudly about it.

My Cobra Baffler 21 degree hybrid club is magical. As of late I can hit it as far as my 3 wood straight as an arrow... I am getting phenomenal distance to the tune of 230 meters with this club. I was on a par 5 the other day, hit a great drive down the middle, was 245 meters away from the green, hit my hybrid and rolled it on to the green--when there were people still on the green putting I had to appologize after the round...

Is anyone out there hitting these new hybrids like this??? I am thinking of parking my 3 wood and getting another hybrid to replace my 4 iron....

Are you sing the new DWS ones's from Cobra? I have a Cobra hybrid 4 iron and it is great - I have their driver as well - it sounds great (its loud) and I consider it to be the best driver I have ever had - I've had titleist, Callaway and TaylorMade drivers previously.

I have a Taylormade 19 Deg dual recovery, it's a very good tool in the bag and plays well out of the rough. I replaced my 5 wood with it and will probably get a 22 deg next.

I must be the only person alive who cant hit these hybrids worth a darn.
My buddy has two taylormades in his bag and he loves them and can hit them a ton. I have one in the garage........maybe I should work with it more.......

I don't think your the only one. I've only hit a few balls with them. Did alright, but I think I can hit my 3 iron better than the hybrid.

              Re: magic hybrid club

I have a 17* 5 wood that I barely hit since getting my TaylorMade Rescue Dual 19*. I might take the 5 wood out of my bag and get a gap wedge.

I do not hit my hybrid like a fairway wood. I play it just like a long iron. I hit down on it. I dont try to sweep it.

I know several people who play ALL hybrids and don't even carry fairway woods. If you get a 16-17* hybrid, you can almost hit it as far as a 3 wood (depending on your skill).

HOWEVER, once you have like 5 hybrids in your bag, it does get a little cluttered with headcovers

As a General Rule you would like to play the ball a inch back from where you play your 3 wood or 1/2 an inch further back than a 5 wood.

Can you see what happens when we speak about General Rules? They only apply to the people that are able to hit from that position because of their body type and a General Statement tries to mold everyone in one given swing.

Take your hybird, hit a few just inside the left heel and then start working the ball back in the stance if needed.

Some people need the ball back in the stance further then they think when hitting a hybird.

Now if you can find your position, say a inch forward of center for our discussion, when you are in the rough you would like to play the ball about an inch further back or in our case center to be able to hit down on the ball.

Also work with your grip. Sometimes when we have a certain grip for a iron, we may want to change the grip for a wood.
Thanks for the tips . I will try them out this weekend.

                  Re: magic hybrid club

My hybrid, a Kasco 23 degree, is so reliable that I've packed my 3 and 4 irons for 3 months. BTW, it is not so good when the ball is above the rough.
In that case I prefer a fairway wood to the hybrid. Paradoxically, a fairway wood in the rough and a hybrid in the fairway.
