I know we've discussed this before, and can't find a common program to use to use to figure out handicaps and how to apply them.
However, I find these types of leagues tons of fun, so I offer the following proposal:
For North Americans, lets use gametracker.teego.com, or gametrack @ www.freegolfinfo.com; or some version of gametrack.
Whatever the consensus program is for Europe, please use that.
If you actively carry a handicap index, use that.
The point is that we work on the honour system anyway...
So, the week would run Monday to Sunday; post scores in the appropriate thread. We'll use net scores for the rankings - but do not apply ESC. The math is below.
For North Americans:
((Gross Score - Course Rating) / Course Slope * 113) - handicap index = net score.
For Europeans (courses with SSS rather than slope/rating):
Gross Score - SSS - handicap index = net score (as I don't think you have another modifier such as slope, right)?
Am I missing anyone? Does this seem good/fair?
Sadly, all I can offer the winner of the VT is bragging rights on GTO...
