BALLS! and how long do they last??

Hey.

As you may or may not know. I work on a Golf course.
Today I was in the nursery cutting sod to repair some dohnut marks someone made on the 18 green and Putting Green with a Pickup. It was BAD trust me. Heavy truck, spinning wheels, wet ground....
Anyway....
While I was there (The nursery is at the end of the range, about 400 yards down).
I found a but load of non-rnge balls.. IE not marked as range balls.
In all I think I found about 12 Titlist, 18 TopFlight, 6 Nike, 12 TiTech... They were more (i checked in the woodlands too hehe)

So, my question is...
How long do these balls last?. I mean, when does their performance breakdown?.

Fraggle,

Early on in your golfing experience more is better, and what kind they are doesn't matter. That was my phylosophy early on. I bought bags of used balls or ebay auctions 100 at a time. When your game gets better then you get into your swing trajectory vs flight trajectory. Every ball is made to fly a little different.

For example, I play 2 balls, a Maxfli noodle Spin for high shots and Titleist Pro V1x for regular shots. The Maxfli's clear the water better on par 3's. They stop the same. The old Maxfli Noodle ran a little after it landed.
