  • Custom Fit You to the Club

For a standard set of golf clubs – say Callaway – when they are made, I suppose there is an assumption on the average height and arm length for the average golfer. Now suppose you are taller than the average golfer (6’2) – and your clubs could not be fitted (the materials used can’t be bent) what adjustments could you make to your setup to minimize the differences between you and the club, and how would you best ascertain what those differences are – i.e., mark the clubs with tape, and look for…..

    Many thanks!

The issue with some Callaways, IIRC, is that they're borethrough irons. In other words, if you bend them conventionally, you'll break the shaft. (This is why they have to be sent back to Callaway). The only other issue I've heard of is trying to bend zinc clubs (they don't bend, they just break).

The only thing left if you cannot bend for lie is to simply alter for length. You do a lie test, then adjust 1/2" for every 1/4" the middle of the mark is away from center.
