All though I rarely shank one, I do top a lot of them after waiting for the green to clear.
I have a par 5 that I can reach from about 250 out about 50% of the time. So I always let the green clear when I'm around that position. If I have to wait more than 2 minutes and I'm playing with a 4 some and there is another 4 some waiting for me to clear. There's an 80% chance I'll be playing my next shot from 175-200 yards after I top it.
