  • Buying Clubs

I need a little help with buying my first set of clubs.

I don't want to spend much starting out because at 6'-5" I'm sure i will eventaully have to buy a custom longer set or have a set extended once I figure out how to play this game

Would a complete new set(with bag) in the $250.00 range be starting out too cheap?

    Appreciate a little feed back.

    Thanks

    John

    first set of clubs

If you are looking in that price range, look for a used set of clubs. You can usually get a higher quality set of clubs for less than half price of retail. Check ebay for some really great deals. From there, get the shafts extended so you can learn with the proper equipment. Shaft extensions are really quite cheap and if you are 6'5", the will make a TON of difference.

      Depends.
Brand new "full" set + new bag for $250... Sounds cheap to mid range to me.

Im looking for a nice second hand set of clubs.
Theres a nice looking Irons set for $40. I cant remeber the manufacturer, but it wasnt a walmart name so Im not to shy about getting them... (now, how many quaters in $40?)

I chekc in a store close by called "All About Sports" or something.
They sell new and used Golf equipment, as well as everything else sport related.

Something else you might think about is putting a notice up in a few golf clubs. You might beable to pickup a nice set of clubs from a player for about $50. Then all you need is a bag.

Just make sure you know what you want, if your not sure, ask here!! :-)
      Someone will beable to help....

        clubs

You can get a good set of clubs (I bought Titleist irons for $100) for $250 easily. I buy clubs and sell them to friends because I can always seem to find really good deals. If you are unsure about the make or model, ask me or one of the pros here on the site. Also check golf-gear-review.com for users comments.
