  • boundary posts?

    a quick question.

Are white boundary markers classed as fixed objects. If my ball was next to one which was impeding my stance or line of swing would i get relief of two club lengths, no nearer the hole. I believe this to be the case. You cannot move an item of course furniture if it is classed as a fixed object (even if physically you are able to do so)

    cheers

Yes. Objects defining OB cannot be moved as they are not obstructions but rather fixed objects - including fences, stakes, walls, and pretty rocks.

Rule 13-2 quiz (R&A and USGA website): A player may move a boundary marker that interferes with his stance: False.

Only if you declare the ball unplayable (Rule 28), choosing option (c) and take the associated one stroke penalty.
