Today was a beautiful day for golf here in NC. However, I must say that I was frustrated with today's effort. My goal has been to break 90 by year-end, but it seems that my new goal should be to break 100.
I got off the tee in good shape for the most part. I left my driver in the bag and used my 3-wood. When I missed a fairway, it was usually because I pulled it to the left. Considering how I had been hitting my tee shots, this was my moral victory of the day.
My iron shots stunk except for one 9-iron that I managed to hit over the flagstick, off the green about 6 feet. I did chip it to within four feet and make par. (My only other moral victory for the day.)
I am still pulling all of my iron shots to the left. Not a hook but dead left from clubface to treeline. I cannot figure out if my timing is off, if I'm not finishing "high" or my release is no timed right. It's frustrating because I am now hitting my 3-wood fairly well and straight , as I meentioned. I figure the swing for my irons should be the same as my 3-wood.
Alas, I hope I can work this all out before I go insane!!
