I want you to promise me something, ie, next comp round I want you not to worry about the score. Just think of what you have to do next. Ask yourself 'what do I have to do now?'. This will help you refocus.

Good hitting and win the GTO Open for the plod.

    Nickers
    cheers nicole
more often than not i dont add up the score until the end of the round
hoping the weather here will improve as the courses are waterlogged and so playing opportunities are a bit scarce at the moment!

It's been my new philosophy - that the score is simply a byproduct of how you're playing. When I'm fully focused on the shot at hand, I find my scores are OK. When I've got score thoughts in my head, the score almost always heads north.

Congrats Slats on breaking 90 with some to spare. Can the temporary absence of the Mother in Law be assisting with the relaxed state?

I am of the Nickers school of thought on scoring here (Well, maybe its something to do with my VPL! (Reminder to self: need some roomier shorts or looser hosiery)). Sorry Nicole, just getting a bit delirious with all this flaming rain.

        Onwards and upwards mate!

At last the roads have cleared of water and I managed to get to the club last night. Part of the course was flooded so some holes have been closed, we have what is called "The high course" which is used in the winter, it adds a few extra par 3's and this is being used at the moment, first time anyone has heard of this happening during the summer.

Although it was an impromptu round as a Billy No Mates I really enjoyed it.

i would settle for that at the moment brian
one way or another it has rained every day now for 7 weeks and the 20-30 minute monsoon like downpours have waterlogged all our local courses.

but that is nothing compared to the horrendous heartache we are seeing on the tv news from gloucester etc so ill stop twining!

Yes, I live in the middle of all that stuff Slats. Malvern is a set of high hills that keeps us above the flood plain but all the roads have been flooded leaving us cut off for a week. We had over 100mm of rain last Friday.
