  • Which Set For Beginner?

BEEN PLAYING A YEAR AND SHOOT BETWEEN 89(BEST) AND 96. WOULD AN OLD SET (1996) OF CALLAWAY BIG BERTHS'S BE BEST OR A DECENT STARTER SET FOR UNDER 200 BUCKS WHICH INCLUDES WOODS, HYBRIDS, IRONS, AND PUTTER. I GUESS WHAT I'M ASKING IS IF A CHEAP STARTER SET WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY BE BETTER THAN AN OLD SET OF CALLAWAYS? i AM ON A STRICT BUDGET RIGHT NOW SO I WILL ADMIT I AM A "CHEAP" GOLFER

    hi
i dont know about callaways but to me a set of matched ping eyes2 or even newer i3's would be better than a full set of new starter clubs. i would think it would be the same with the callaways as the ping's. i know that the pings are very well made and use the best of everything and that why they last a very long time and even old clubs still play very welll, i have never played callaway's so i cant say about them. dont be put off by a good set of second hand clubs just because there old.

Spend the money, go get fitted with true length technology clubs.

      Dan's Custom Golf Shop

Find your home state, and work with the fitter. Generally speaking, if they're on the TLT registry, then they're also PCS affiliated (or some other professional clubmaking organisation).
