  • 'Fat is IN. Practice is OUT'

Just read this article about John Daly in the Boston Herald following his great performance on day 1 of the PGA championship.

He's not the greatest role model but you can't help but like this guy!

    Any opinions?

It won't last, as much as I like John, he made some bonehead decisions in yesterday's round and was very lucky to get away with them. His luck will not hold out and with the greens getting harder and faster I predict a +5 for him today. Time will tell I guess.

Daly is - in my humble opinion - the largest TALENT in golf, ever!

The guy doesn't really practice his golf.
Imagine if he started to hit the practice range instead of the slot machines.

He showed up, didn't play a practice round, made some crazy shots--what's not to like? I can't help hoping he does well, he's such an "everyman" figure, but I agree that unless he settles down and starts to play smarter, his luck will run out. Cabrera's pretty talented and strong like JD, but also pretty shrewd, and he managed to card a 10 on one hole yesterday.

+3 for Daly today, he did a bit better than I thought he would (+5). For a big man with such power he has increadible touch around the green.

Tiger was in a class of his own today, they might as well cut the cheque now and save everyone else the bother.
