The main idea in golf as in life I suppose, is to learn to accept what cannot be altered and to keep on doing ones own reasoned and resolute best whether the prospect be bleak or rosy. Bobby Jones
Just to confirm what I wrote in my blog, for those that don't frequent that area, I try to play every day. 18 holes if possible, 9 if not. If I'm really, really stuck for time, I play 4. Occasionally (once a month?) I can't get to my home course, so I'll tend to go the range instead, but I'd always rather not - I'd always rather be out there on the course.
I've played 96 18-hole rounds of golf since 5th April (28 weeks, at the time of writing), and many many 9 hole rounds other than this.
I realise this is unusual, but I'm extremely fortunate that being self-employed, I'm able to schedule my commitments to facilitate this. It also helps that my 9 hole municipal course costs me £22 (perhaps $38) per month for unlimited play, so I make damned sure to get my money's worth!
I try to play twice a week all year and I guess it averages at something like that. During the summer I manage an evening game midweek and play most weekends. Would play more if not working. I also visit the range at least twice a week all year.
About 150 rounds a year. The wife and I travel quite a bit, and it is nothing for me to have the coach pull over and get our clubs out. All it usually takes is a sign that reads "GOLF". GJS

I'm a golfaholic, no question about that. Counseling wouldn't help me. They'd have to put me in prison, and then I'd talk the warden into building a hole or two and teach him how to play. ~Lee Trevino
Being the non custodial parent following my divorce some 8 years ago now, I only play on weekends where I have no agreed contact with my 2 kids.
Some months I might only get one round in, others I might get in 5 or 6.
According to my Golflink history, I have played 25 club competition rounds in the 2007 calendar year to date, carding 90 gross on average. (Par 72)
My low round being an 82 back in May and a high round of 99 in April.
During that time, my exact handicap has come in from 17.5 at the start of the year, to it's current 15.0, after having reached a low of 14.4 in mid July.
Also was a member of my Club's VGL Pennant side this year which added another 6 matchplay rounds to my list. Have also had 2 or 3 social rounds on a Sunday with friends.
All of this with no practice. The way I see it, each round I play is a practice round for the next time I get out.
Bottom line for me is that I certainly don't get to play as often as I'd like, but, I think that is true of all golfers, the big Dog included...
Played 14 so far and will get in #15 tomorrow. 15 is the most I have ever got in in one season . With child #2 on the way (due in Jan) next season may be severely limited.
I would love nothing more than to play multiple times a week, I get out as often as I can, don't forget started 2k3 ^^^^ and I can only golf for 7 months a year.
I have playe 62 18 hole rounds since the summer of 2003.

What a shame, the greens had been punched and putting was a total ****shoot. Lovely course though. I really enjoyed it despite playing the craziest Jekyll and Hyde game I have ever played.
Off the tee it was either, right down the middle with a soft fade, or a horrific fat shot that would go 20 yards at best. Irons were either pured or shanked.
I had no idea what I would get when I stepped up to the ball.
I would par some holes. Double bogie the ones where I hit a gohod tee shot and then shanked the approach. Bogie or Double on the ones where I fatted it off the tee and then rescued myself and then 10s and 12s when I hit fat off the tee and then proceeded to shank my way all the way to the hole.
I decided to just enjoy the surroundings and not really count my score in the end.
What a shame. I think the clubs will go away for the year now, unless my mother in law needs an extra player one weekday.
We never did get out together did we 2K3. I haven't played a weekend game since we talked about hooking up. We should definitely get out next spring.
