    Re: Almost there......!

    hi gassim
i have an old ping eye 2 one iron i use every time i play and i find it easy to use and is one club i feel i always hit the fairway with, i use it on 3 holes off the tee at my course and off the fairway too on two long par 5s. i have never used another 1 iron so i don't know if this one just suits me or not, i hit the ball about 220/230 yard with it and its great for a windy day and we have lots of them here as I'm on the coast and play lots of links golf.
if you want my best tip using a one iron then its don't try and hit the ball hard, let the club do the work and you will find its one of the best clubs in the bag for the tight holes where you need to be on the fairway for the second shot. a lot of its in the mind too, people tell you you cant hit a one iron and you start to think it a hard club to use but its the same as any other club and there to do a job and if used for that gob then a really good club, hitting out the rough or on and big up or down slop is not on, you have to use a one iron wisely.
    cheers

      Thanks for the tips bill.

Will put in a bit of practice in the range before heading out to the course.

Some of the best chipping I've done all year has been when I've been too lazy to take the mittens off my hands. I simply hold the club in my bemittened hands and use a body turn to chip - works out very, very well.
