  • Iron length

I have changed my swing so now i have a slight draw and I hit my driver 200-220 yards which is an improvement to what i was hitting in november. I would like to get it to 250 but the major problem is my iron play.

    I hit my irons:- Pitcher - 80 yds, 9 iron - 100 yds, 8 iron -110 yrds up to 4 iron 145 yds.

These are all down 30 yds from what i would like them to be, what causes this lack in length. Is it club head speed (even when i explode through a swing i lack length), bad swing.........?

I seem to get a lot of height but no length.

    Thanks

    RW,

The release of the wrists through the shoot is what will get you the distance you are looking for. The backswing should be a smooth even tempo, the purpose to get the body and club into the correct position with the weight into the right side. At the transition the weight first shifts into the left leg and at the same time the right arm and wrist straighten through impact.

Where are you located, as your profile is not filled in and I know nothing about you swing and hcp other than the pictures I've seen.
