  • "He got lucky ",,,or did he ?

What more can be said about Tiger and the match play championship ? did he get lucky when going down the stretch against Holmes ? no he just put on the most awesome display of determination you are likely to see !
A most entertaining match against Baddley yesterday, you have to give the young guy all the credit in the world. Once past the first couple of holes he payed outstanding golf and was on the verge of knocking Mr. Woods out of it but once again Tiger prevailed. Tiger's tee shot, under the circumstances on 16 was brilliant and probably not unexpected.
At the end of his match yesterday Tiger looked drained ( knackered in the U.K. ) I wonder how he will fair today against Mr. Choi, he will have a real advantage in the distance department but Choi will be no pushover and Tiger better find a bit more of the fairways.
I'm not a big believer in the " luck " factor in golf whether it be at the top level or amateur, I choose to believe in the " rub of the green ", we've all had it, good and bad and hopefully they equal themselves out.

I agree with what you said. I too feel that Choi will be tough to beat. Then again, my gut tells me that it will not take the full 18 for Tiger to win this one. He is starting to get in his groove, and I don't think he wants it to be as close and the match with Baddley or Holmes. We'll see what happens, but my guess is that Tiger wins the match on 16!

Well, Cink has been playing some awesome matchplay golf this year.

Tiger, however, can never be counted out, and usually elevates his game as the ending draws near.

My money is on Tiger, but my heart says Cink!

I kind of have to go along with you, Cink is a heck of a nice big guy with a great attitude and game to match. He will go into todays' final against the Tiger with a " nothing to lose " approach.
I enjoyed the Stenson / Woods match yesterday, I was a bit surprised that Leonard played so poorly but as they say about match play " anything can happen ".
So win or lose Cink's a happy guy that he has made it this far and bottom line is his bank manager can be assured that the minimum deposit will be eight hundred K.

9 holes in, and the Tiger is up by 4. The guy is a beast!

              8 & 7 after 29 holes, and that's the ballgame.

My apologies if I'm threadjacking, but saw this link from the Match Play home page...

It will bear some interesting discussions I'm sure...

                Cheers
