Hey guys,
Is there a way to replace my driver shaft with a shaft out of an older 3 wood without damaging the shaft?
Before you reply asking why the hell I'd want to do that, I'll explain. I'm a strong player, ball speed in the 140s and club head speed in the low 100s. I have a really, really high ball flight with my Cleveland Launcher. I've been told based on my measurements that I need a higher kick point, stiffer tip shaft, like the Aldila NV. I happen to have an older 3 wood that I don't use anymore with that shaft. I figured before I buy a new driver I'd try replacing the shaft, unless this is prohibitively expensive or just a really dumb idea (I don't mind losing an inch of length on my driver, I'd like a little more control anyway).
Is this doable? Or just not worth it?
Thanks!
