  • Turnarouns for fitted clubs

    Alrighty Swingers,

I have recently ordered some custom fitted irons from american golf. It has now been 3 weeks since the order.

The guy in the shop that placed my order reckoned about a week. I went back after about a week and a half later and the 2nd guy said it usually takes 2 weeks.

So 3 weeks later still not a peep. Does anyone know what the turnaround should be?

Incidentally its taylormade tour burner irons. Is the delay likely to be with manufacturer?

I would not mind so much if they had not charged me, but that's 3 weeks now my money has been sitting in their bank.

I am tempted to cancel, but don't really want go through the whole fitting and ordering process elsewhere and wait even longer for my irons.

woops can't change typo in title.

Yes I know they have a bad rep but my local one is normally pretty good. Regretting placing my order now though.

tell them your going to wright a review of there service on the internet and see if that hurry them along a bit and ask for the names of the people in the shop saying your going to wright to there head office and there regional manager.
shops don't like it when there regional manager get involved.

Yeah Bill I think a visit this week will be in order to demand some answers, I think I will take the tact of giving them till the end of the week before cancelling the order.

Was down playing castle park again on Sunday btw Bill. Very busy, but got out before a big outing. Had my usual disaster on first, except instead of water I hooked OB left of road.

            hi
i love the second half of the course at castle park. the first half is still a bit new and still settling in. they have planted 1500 trees between the 4 and 7th.
give it a few more years and it will be a really good course.
you need to carry the ball 260yds to clear the water on the first but i tend to aim over past the road with my Lee Trevino style stance.
hope you had a good day
            cheers
            Bill

              Re: Turnaround for fitted clubs

Wee update on my American Golf Woes.

Eventually went back to shop after a month wait. Demanded they phone up Taylormade while I was there asked what was going on.

Turns out taylormade were no longer doing the heads I ordered. Fair enough I thought but surely that should have been established early on in the ordering process.

After my calm headed complaints about having my money for a month and why were american golf not chasing this up a bit earlier in the process, I could see the recipient of my rant could not really care but he did offer an alternative model at a discount.

At this point I asked for a refund after losing confidence in the place.

I have since gone to see a mizuno fitter and done the right thing (I wanted to avoid mizuno based on the fact most people I play with have them and I did not want join the cleek). However I guess there is a reason they are so popular and I tried out a few different models (mx200s, mp57s, mp52s)

I was hitting them all quite well, but I was getting best distance and trajectory with the mx200s. So I took the plunge and hopefully they will arrive within the next week!

This will be my first properly fitted set of irons so I am expecting big things.

The fitter put tape on my current irons and apparently they have been to flat for my swing this whole time.

I guess that makes sense about my mishits fading.

                hi Spiffo
sorry to hear you had such trouble. good to know it has at last been sorted.
i have only ever heard good things about Mizuno but never played them myself.
it may take you a week or two to get use to the new clubs but i think you will find a difference with fitted clubs.
let us know how you get on.
                cheers
                Bill

You won't regret changing to Mizuno, as they great man said "nothing feels like a mizuno"!

                    Re: Turnaround for fitted clubs

I have still not received them.

Apparently there is a delay on the shafts I grips I am getting. Looking forward to the new irons.

I guess after my irons saga another week or 2 wait wont kill me. Typical as well I am going through a wee purple patch and playing really well and I am about to change clubs .
