  • High Ball hitter

I have always hit a very high ball - because I am a wristy player who 'flips' the club through impact. Horizontal distance is not a problem and the vertical height is often an advantage - except on windy days.

Many of the new irons on the market are advertised as designed to 'get the ball up'. In contrast, I am looking for irons (and shafts) that will keep it down. Any recommendations?

    to be honest.......

get a lesson and learn to not be wristy... it will be cheaper in the long run

no irons are going to keep the ball low if you are wristy

I am not sure if cavity backs or blades will have effect on height, but I think blades will go lower if anything.

        Hi
mostly cavity backs hit the ball higher than blades but if it a wrist problem then clubs or shafts will only plaster over the cracks.
need to fix your swing first as you may find the clubs you have now work well with a fixed swing.

Hitting the ball high is not necessarily a bad thing, most tour players hit the ball high. The issue is whether you are creating good ball compression or not and good distance. If your lead wrist is not breaking down and you are creating wrist rotation with supination then you should make powerful shots.
