    New Driver?

    Having recently returned to golf I need to replace my Taylormade R320 (Lite S-90 shaft), so I can play in my club competitions.

    I'm thinking about a Callaway FT3 or FT5. These clubs seem to come with lots of different shafts but as I'll probably buy on line I won't get the chance to try them. I quite like the shaft in my current driver so can anyone give me some advice on what an equivalent would be?

    straight up... i wouldn't touch something i have never hit before. you could be just throwing your money away.

    if your going to get a new driver. go to your local pro shop and ask to have a hit of a few demo's they have laying around to see what you like the feel of best.

    your local pro can advise you on what shaft you requie and possibly what club will suit you better.

    i can tell you i have hit a 15degree FT3 and smash the ball 230m with a stiff shaft (which i can), but i can guarantee your not going to do the same.

    hit the local pro shop for your new club. don't buy online if you really don't know what you want...

    i'm not taking a swipe at you, just trying to help you from throwing your money away.

      I got the FT9 and it goes straight and like a rocket. Best ever and got it after testing it with the multi fit system.

        Hi, I agree with OZ ,try before you buy. I made the mistake of buying on line a club I was certain was right for me, I now have $300 worth of club gathering dust in my shed. What is termed stiff by one club maker may not be so for another.May I suggest at least trying some at your proshop then buy on line.
        Don't forget about screening for counterfeits.

          Got to agree. I usually buy online. However this time I changed tactics. I had to try about 10 different club\set ups before I found a suitable one. Imagine how much money I would have lost by buying them online and finding they were not good.
