  • Trolley Batteries

My battery is no longer giving me 18 holes. It is only about 9 months old. I have got no comeback as I bought off Ebay and can't find the seller any more. It was brand new. Has anyone got any tips on this please? I am wondering if the charger gives it enough. The light turns green so I am just assuming it is charged. To experiment, I am trying it on a car battery charger. Also the course is very wet and heavy. So, perhaps it takes a lot more power to get round. What do you think?

    Re: Trolley Batteries

    Hi Bri
mine still going good after 18 months, i have two and swap them week to week. remember the batterys are very diffrent to a car. with a car it a high amp out (15 amp to 75 amp depending on the battery) to start the car but in Trolley batterys is a steady volatge with only 1 to 2 amps. so batterys very diffrent and i would not use a normal car charger as it could warp the trolley battery plates! i do take both trolley batteries i gotr with my tolley in the car incase one startes to go weak but so far i get round ok with just the one battery.
it is hilly where i am and the 12 is a real hard clime even without the trolley.
    cheers

I have a Powakaddy trolley and 18 hole battery. I played 36 holes with it a month ago and it was still going strong.

I succumbed to old age and got a Go Kart trolley, the 18 hole battery of which is fine for the occasional 36 as well.

Go Kart recommend re-charging as soon as possible after use, suggesting that leaving partially charged is a contributor to reduced battery life.
