Anyone had a chance to play that new 5 piece, Penta ball from TaylorMade yet.? I did this week end. I liked the way it worked for me around, and on the green, but my not having a high swing speed probably robbed me of any distance attributes it might have. In fact it was some what shorter than my normal ball off the tee, regardless of the club I used. I paid $47 (USD) for a dozen, but I also received a store coupon worth $10 which I applied to something else. GJS

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: TM Penta Ball
I bought a sleeve to try and really enjoyed the feel off every club - I could really feel the compression in all irons both long and short, and I found it mid-firm off the putter which is very much like my current ball; so I thought it was great there.
The Penta really does seem to spin 'the right way' with the right clubs - lower off the driver, a bit more off the long irons, a bit less on the short irons, and just the right amount when chipping. What it produces is a similar response on the greens no matter what club you're hitting into the green.
