A collegue recently lent me one of his Titleist XL balls for a round after a spontaneos decision to have a game. I used my clubs.
I'm not one to believe that equipment makes the slightest difference at my beginner level but I had the best round in terms of accuracy that I ever had. The next round with my own ball (Donnay) was back to the old standard again, except the hole that I tried with the Titleist!
Can it really be that a ball has an effect on accuracy (not distance)? How does one go about choosing a ball to optimise accuracy? It seems that most manufacturers claim fantastic distance but at the moment, I am going a long way into the woods!
