  • is it in the mind or is it the club?

    hey..

i took up golf recently.. in december i brought my self a cheap set incase i didnt like it but it turns out i love it... i spent £120 on a set on dunlop clubs but i am thinkin of changin my driver and maybe the woods...

i hit irons fine, straight most of the time.. but 9 times out of 10 i slice my driver badly... today out on a round with a friend who is alot better than me he let me try his titliest driver jus for a change.. i launched 4 drives pretty much straight and also further than my club ever has hit it... he said it cost him about 200 about 5yrs ago.. the only main difference in the club is his head was smaller than the 1 on mine and was 11.5 loft where as mine is 10.5

i am thinkin about wackin out on a new driver if it genuinely would help my game.. but not sure if it was a case of its all in my mind when i swing???

i had my best round ever today and cut my front 9 stokes (where i was usin his driver) down by 8 shots. i got mine out for the back 9 and was back to the slicing.

jus wondered if anyone can relate to this and also open to sugestions

Off hand I would say your friend's driver fits your swing better than your own driver. Most likely the shafts are of different flexes. Just a guess on my part. GJS
