I am thinking of changing my current grips and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. I currently have Golf Pride velvet tour wrap, but am thinking of going to a grip with no thread for a little more feel. Any ideas?

I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.

Re: What Grip to use?
Grips are like car rims and haircuts: Everyone likes something different, and they all function about the same.
There are hundreds of different grips out there. Try some out, find what you like, and go with that. The most important grip 'stat' or feature is size. Too small, and you'll promote a hook. Too big, and you'll promote a slice.

Re: What Grip to use?
Like Ian said, to each their own - everyone has a different taste. If you are looking for long lasting and tacky grips, the Golf Pride Tour Wraps are the way to go. This is my grip of choice and I would have to be blown away by something else to swtich, but it's all personal preference.

Lowpost,
I still don't get your profile 42 H/cap yet you seen very knowledgeable about the game.
28 is the maximum in GB for men and 36 for Ladies. Under 10's at my club start with 45.
Can you tell me more?????
Thanks Ian.

I was always assuming that the 42 was his lowest 9 holes and just miss read/typed it in the profile.

Re: What Grip to use?
I would like to promote the absolutely amazing Winn Whisper Grip. They are one of the wrap around ones that actually has to be wrapped round the shaft.
They are a bit costly (6.50 a grip) and for the most used clubs (driver and wedges) they only last about a season. But I recommend them, they can completely change the feel of your clubs (in a good way).
If you have the cash to change every season they are the way to go. I only have them on my wedges and my driver (Im one of the poor souls who cant afford 80 qid a season on grips).

Re: What Grip to use?
Thanks Darryl,
This is what I was looking for something thT I have not heard of. I know all about the various standard grips available and sizes but was looking for something different. Where can I buy these? Are there any sites that have them?

Re: What Grip to use?
If you are looking for something like what Darryl mentioned, you may also want to do some research on real leather grips. They are expensive, but there is no substitute for real leather.

Re: What Grip to use?
Not to thread jack, I just assumed - I normally shoot 42 over par....
I've endeavoured to understand the game, understand the swing, and educate myself about both the aforementioned, as well as the rules - including the obscure ones.
I've had the good fortune to start this game with some cash (and a buddy at a trade in shop), so I've had an opportunity to try some equipment and some different things...
