  • Wear A Cap!

I had my best round the other day and believe it was all down to my new piece of equipment, a baseball cap! I was advised to use one by a low handicapper at the club as he said that it would help block out distractions and help me focus. I didn't believe a word of it, and being slighlty older was a bit against wearing such a trendy item. But guess what, this turned out to do exactly that, it helped me focus better over each shot. The real test will be this weekend in the comp. watch this space.

Has anyone else found that a hat works?

    Re: Wear A Cap!

Did anyone see "Tin Cup"? When his caddy told him to put his change in the other pocket..to turn his hat sideways...when he was shanking every shot at the practice range...

This is the same thing. You did something that you thought had a chance to do something different. Your thoughts were positive in the aspect that his cap could help you concentrate, so you ended up concentrating better. It changed your perception of reality just enough.

When this newness wares off though, and you get used to the cap, you will be back to your old swing and concentration level. Sorry to say that.

But enjoy the change. Because If you honestly believe that a cap can magically help you concentrate better, I have these magic golf balls that if you tell them to go in to the hole they jump right in...

I have magic golf balls, too - nature balls. They're attracted to things in nature, like trees, long grass, and water; and are repelled by man-effected things - namely holes in the ground and short grass.
