  • Softspikes and broken fingernails

Does anyone have a quick and painless method for removing fast-twist Softspikes without the "special wrench"? At the moment I'm suffering from frustration and broken fingernails as I attempt to remove some very worn spikes (oops!) with a screwdriver and my fingers.

    What are you like,

Heat an old screwdriver up with a bunson burner or gas cooker, when it is hot put it into the middle of the spike to make a hole.

Once cool put the screwdiver in and turn the spike out.

Use an old one if possible as this does leave melted plastic on the screwdriver.

Are you turning them the right way "anti-clockwise"

        LOL

Thanks guys. For a moment I thought I was being a complete muppet but it's clearly not as straightforward as the chaps at Softspike would have you believe. I guess it makes sense that they don't come out easily else we'd lose them all by the time we'd finished a round.
