  • Don't Tell Anyone ...

Don't tell anyone I told you but I was told by a "someone" who uses their equipment under contract that Tyalor Made are making a set of irons with weight ports like the R7 driver.

There will be 2 weight ports at the back of the club with the cavity between them. One will be on the toe and the other towards the hosel.

Expected to be out later this year ...

That's pretty cool, but remember: It's a poor musician that blames the instrument. It's a poor contractor that blames the tools. It's a poor golfer that... never mind. In some cases, it is the clubs.

I'm trying ... but my "somebody" is playing this week and doesn't go to the factory that often. But as soon as I get pics, you'll be the first to see them.

Ok cool, and do you think these clubs will be pricy?

No idea DNA, but I rekon about the same as the current OS2's. Taylor normally price their products in a very narrow band.

Look at how expensive the Quad R7 was compared to other drivers, and apply the same logic (markup?) to the irons.

Great, just what I need. Another gadget with adjustments that makes this Head Case more dangerous to himself and his golf game.

Sounds all very good, as what lowpost said, the driver was like the most exspensive cause of the waits, so maybe the same in irons? and also there are lynx irons out / comming out with changeable weights

                    Re: Don't Tell Anyone ...

It was just a matter of time. One company puts out a new successful concept/design and everyone jumps on that bandwagon and it escalates from there. This is cheaper and easier to mass produce from the manufacturers point of view because if the clubs are adjustable, there is less models they have to manufacture. This means fewer moulds and less overhead.

                        Re: Don't Tell Anyone ...

I have occasionally used weights on irons called Lead tape. I will change swing weights of my irons from time to time using Lead tape. Other than that, I have no use for weighted clubs, irons or woods. I want my swing to shape the shots because a good swing will do this. I do not want the equipment to mask problems with my swing.

Clubs with moveable weights are not necessarily weighted clubs, just the ability to adjust/move/shift the weight that is normally there. When you add lead tape, you are increasing the weight, then depending where you place the tape, shifting the weight.

I believe ol' scotty already took care of it - with selectable weights in the Futura.

Yes he did, but that is 1 weight and another 2 weights you can change in the face, but this rosa has many meights more than the futura.
