I am looking to buy some new wedges. The wedges I have currently I hit very well but they are just worn out. I have a 60 degree lob wedge that is made by some custom company and a 56 degree Ben Hogan "Sure Out" that was given to me and is about 8-10 years old. I would say that my wedge play along with my putting is the strongest part of my game. So I feel confident that I really could hit whatever I buy, but I wanted to hear what some of you guys played. I would love to just go out and get 2 Vokey's but I dont have the budget to do that. So what is a good wedge at a decent price? Im looking to buy both 56 and 60.

I use the Cleveland 588's (60 & 56) and they are fantastic wedges. With a bit of searching you should be able to get these for a good price, certainly much cheaper than the Vokeys. -

I have a TaylorMade RAC 56 degree which is superb. My lob wedge is the Progen Gun Metal wedge and it's fantastic for the price. 'My average's Cleveland'

I've just moved to Hogan on a 3-year deal. They are without doubt the best wedges I have ever had and I have about 40 of them at least. I've got Titleists, Vokeys, Clevelands, Adams, Nike, Ping, you name it.

Hi guys I'm a beginning golfer (started last year). Like eveyone else, I've caught the bug and I am planning to play a lot.
I've recently been considering in getting a lob wedge, gap wedge, and sand wedge. I saw a set Wilson Harmonized ($100). Should I wait and invest in better clubs (e.g. Cleveland or Hogan etc). Or do you think I won't be able to notice the difference yet.

I just got home from PlayItAgain sports and I bought a "used" Titleist Vokey 60 degree for $39.99. I couldnt even tell it was used. It shins like crazy still has a good titleist grip on it. I was amazed. I am pumped about it. But its raining so I cant go hit it....
. But anyways I just hope its not fake or something cuz this thing is just as good as new.
Playitagain sports if you have one near you is a good place to look for wedges, they dont have much when it comes to woods or irons but they had a lot of good name brand "used" wedges for like $50 and under. I mean maybe you can get lucky like me.Comment

If you like your wedges, get them regrooved. Much cheaper than buying a new set of wedges. That said, Vokeys and Clevelands seem to be top notch. (However, if TeachingPro is saying Hogans, it could be worth a very good look.)

Yeah that's a great deal on that Vokey. I got Cleveland 900 RTG's, a 52, 56, and 60, for about $35 apiece on eBay, and I think they play alot like the Vokey's, maybe a little softer, which is good for me, but it's just whatever you prefer. As for the Hogan's, I've never hit them but I had heard good things about them before Graham said anything, so I'm sure they're worth a shot.Comment

LMAO... maybe I am just too new to this but what is so special about a vokey wedge???
I am looking into some new wedges as well and was just going to go and get some ping wedges to match my set. But I haven't found if they have the one I am looking for 64o and maybe a 56o but I am not sure what angles are for PW, LW, GW, etc...
No one has said anything about pings... are they Not good wedges... or is a vokey a better wedge?Comment

Don't go and buy wedges just because they match your set. You want a good quality wedge that is going to suit you. Not that Ping wedges aren't good, just there are better weges out there. The Cleveland and Vokey wedges have been at the top of the consumer list for the past few years and are definitely the two most popular wedges, as far as sales go, on the market.Comment
