  • my driver swing stats

    here are my averages for my golf swing. With these a club maker is making me an alpha 460 cc with a V2 stiff shaft. I had a 983k 8.5 degree with a stiff speeder shaft...any thoughts...these were all done using ****ty range balls.
    AVERAGES 10 swings
    Ball speed = 148
    Clubhead speed = 101
    launch angle = 7.4 degrees
    Backspin =-2755rpm
    sidespin = 1126 rpm
    Distance (carry)= 257
    swing path = -17 degrees
    face angle =-5.9 degrees

    face impact (center hit) 8/10 times 1 toe 1 heel
    flight time = 6 seconds
    MAx height =22 yards

    temp 88 degrees
    wind condition 4.1 miles/ going across me
    0 foot elevation

    Well, if I'm interpreting this properly, it means that you've got the clubface closed at impact - you must hit quite a draw (as it seems your coming from the inside as well).

    You're obviously finding the sweetspot most of the time.

    The stiff V2 is going to work well for you - Accuflex makes great shafts (I love my Evolution).

    The only question I have (as the Alpha head is great) is what loft he's building for you? 11*?

        i am thinking of going with a 12 degree instead...may go over there and try to talk him into it...i hit my 8.5 low...but 270-290 every time

          Well, with that clubhead speed, a 12* would maximize your carry. It also makes you more vulnerable to the wind, but you just can't trust roll.

            so you think the alpha 460 is a good club head?

              Re: my driver swing stats

              I think it's a great club head - and I have all sorts of designs to try it out one day (after I get tired of my SMT Spectrum, Bang BOM, and SMT 455 DB).

                Re: my driver swing stats

                I would definitely agree that a high lofted driver is required. MINIMUM of 10.5* based on the fact that your clubface is delfted at impact. Your swing speed is definitely high enough to go with a 9.5, but with the delofting, you want at least 10.5, or higher. Optimal launch angle for a driver is about 14 - 15*. Remember, the kick point on the shaft will also impact the launch angle as well - low kick point will give you a higher launch angle where as a high kick point will lower trajectory.

                  the guy said nope...with the v2 shaft I got I should go with a 10.5....tipped at the bottom and right below the grip i guess.

                    I don't get it - the Icon v2 is a mid-high kickpoint shaft - meaning a mid-low ballflight.
