  • brand choice?

im currently in the market for a new set of clubs after years of use out of a set given to me that basic are to say the least. I think i have got it down to two these are a set of powerbilt grandslams with Ti driver g/s and 3 and 5 woods with s/s and 3-sw s/s, the other set are srixon tour specials with the same selection of clubs as the powerbilts. As both the places selling these only sell the one brand i am worried about there bias. Can anyone give me any feed back or suggestions as they would be grately appreciated

    Re: brand choice?

IIRC, the powerbilts are older clubs, while the Srixon's are newer. But their both designed for beginners. I'd buy the Srixons, myself, but only because I'm partial to their ball offerings.

EDIT: Some in depth research has shown the Srixons to be muscle-cav irons, while the Powerbilts Grand Slams are cavity backs.

Therefore, my best advice is to take the Grand Slams.

Um ... if you only had the two to choose from - go for the Power Bilts. I think they are far better suited to a beginner & improver than the Tour Specials.

Without going into too much detail on specs, the Power Bilts suits a far wider range of golfer and could easily carry you into the low-ish handicap range (10 -12 handicap) without any problem.
