  • Mizuno MP32 vs. Titleist 735CM

Hello, I'm a rather new member to the forums, and like what I see.

I'm a 5 Handicap, and am looking for a new iron set. I'm stuck between Mizuno's gorgeous MP32 muscle-cut blades and Titleist's brand-new 735CM. Any help deciding would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I tried the Mizuno MP32s over the summer and was a little disappointed by them. They do look beautiful but they didn't feel as good as I expected; perhaps they've been overhyped. In the end I bought a set of Titleist 690 MBs, which are traditional blades. They look fantastic, the feedback on each shot is astounding and I found them as easy to hit as the Mizunos. Of course that's just my personal preference. I don't think the 735s are available yet in the UK so I haven't tried them.

      Same here,

I think the MP32's were just a tad over-hyped. I decided to go with the Titleist 690 CB instead of MB's as I'm not a consistant enough striker. I thought the CB's gave just as much much feedbak as the MB's.

Haven't seen the 735's yet, so can't comment on them, but you can't go wrong with a Titleist iron.

Sipes, you might be interested to know that the MP-32's were recommended to me by Gary Player's coach. He called them the best iron he's ever hit, and I can't disagree with him. I think they are the finest iron made. Excellent feedback, absolutely astounding control.

You can get good feedback hitting a rock. Which ball it is doesn't make any difference as to where it hits on the clubface. If you hit a good shot (ie the sweet spot), you wont't feel a thing. If you don't, well...

Re: Mizuno MP32 vs. Titleist 735CM

I have a set of MP32s and believe that these are some of the very best irons I have ever owned. I play to a 7 - 9 handicap playing maybe once a month. These irons are forgiving enough to allow my occasional mishit but still offer me the feedback I need to tell where I hit the ball on the face. I can control my shots fairly well, with practice and playing very well. I have a habit of purchasing new irons frequently but I know these irons will be in my bag for a very long time.

I do not play the Titleist NSX. I change between the Callaway HX and the Titleist Pro V1 depending on my mood.

DOUBLE THE DIFFERENCE AND BUY THEM BOTH!!!

                Problem solved.

Seriously, I think they are both good. I guess it's like looking at 7-series BMW and the S-Class Merc, they're both gorgeous, top-of-the line and serious quality. But some buy the Merc and some buy the BMW for no particular reason, just a gut feel preference.

You won't make a mistake buying either but to make an eductated choice, you have to take the heads up and hit them at the range over a few days and then decide.

Personally, I would buy the E55 AMG. But that's just me.

I'm also the type to change irons frequently, but after hitting the MP-37's last week, I find myself looking for an excuse not to switch to them. I think they're even nicer than the MP-32's.

I would go with the Mizunos just because of the proven track record they have with forged blades (and I used to play MP14s.If you can get a set buy them and don't let them go).

Re: Mizuno MP32 vs. Titleist 735CM

Oh, this topic has turned out to be about cars..I would choose the BMW M5....man, if only I had the $$. What a stealth of car!!

Anyway, back to the topic. Selecting either clubs is very much like selecting an S class or a 7 series...If possible, do try both out.

As for me, although I am usually a Titleist man, if I were to choose between MP32 and 735CM, I would choose the MP32. However, I have recently bought the 690CB (can anyone tell me whats the major difference between the DOT version??). I think they are fantastic club as they are very forgiving and has the feel of a muscle back.

                        M5 *sigh*

I hit the MP-37's and the 690mb's the other day, and I almost think I liked the Titleists more.

I will end the debate right now......

Get a set of MP33's instead and save yourself some cash.

The 32's are lovely clubs but not as good as either the 33's or the 37's, in fact, they arent even as good as the MP30's

                          D.
