  • Off season purchases

Since the golf off season is now upon us and prices will come down on older equipment and new stuff is coming out, i was wondering what everyone would be buying during the winter.

    I'll start:

    Cleveland diadic 48* PW
    Cleveland diadic 60* LW
New Golf Bag (any recommendations would be helpful)
    re-grip irons

    And hopefully depending on money:

r7 Quad 9.5* stiff shaft driver
    re-shaft 3 wood to a stiff flex

Got the Irons and Driver done this year. Will be looking into a 3 wood, either Wishon or Ashton, a 18 / 19 Hybrid ( Wishon, SMT or Ashton ) and maybe a new putter.

I got the cart blanche bag from Burton this year. If your looking into a cart bag this thing has plenty of room for everything and then some, very nice bag..

I want to get a Mizuno bag now that I'm pretty sure I'll never play a different type of iron. I've got a TaylorMade bag right now.

I was thinking of going to MP-33's, 37's, or 690 mb's, but then I realized I just spent $550 on the irons I have less than a year ago and I still have plenty of room to grow with them.

The one thing which will definitely be swapped out is my 3 wood. Still open to what kind at this point. I also want to get the Rescue Mid 16 in a graphite shaft. The one I have has a steel shaft.

If you are wanting an r7 I would wait a few months until TM releases the new r7. Then the prices of the older r7 should drop.

what do you guys think of clone golf clubs? i recently purchased a clone of the nike ignite and clones of the callaway x16 irons, these things hit like the real ones and i will never buy real clubs after this and not to mention i got driver and irons for less than a real nike ignite driver...way cheaper than that

I would buy a good used set of the real thing before I bought clones.

Now, go and demo an actual Ignite and some actual X16's - and hit them beside your clones - and learn how much longer you could have been.

Odyssey putters are the best you will find.

I just replaced my irons so I'm all done for the winter

Ricky, I would try and demo a Mizuno Wedge before you buy one. I had 2 of the black ox jobs and had to get rid of them. They are very heavy in the sole and arent too good for full shots or chipping, they do lobbing and sand shots pretty well but I didnt find them versatile enough. I would recommend the Cobra Phil Rodgers wedges. I bought two this summer and they have been well worth the money.
