  • New Driver loft / Flex question....

I am currently playing a r510 TP with 757 R flex. Been wanting a S flex in same set up. I can get an r7 TP with weights and everything new for about $100.00 more than the 510. The r510 TP is 9.5*

My question is this.....the r7TP I can get is 10.5 loft. However, it is stiffer flex than I am currently playing. With the 855 different launch and swing weight set ups, I don't see this as a major issue.

Is there anything I need to be aware of??? I am not worried about the shaft flex. If I don't like the S, I can always take the R out of my r510 TP and put it in the R7.

    Thanks

Well, depending on your swing speed, you may experience more yardage out of your driver, and more accuracy. Or you may experience more yardage, and everything goes push-side.

How far are your drives carrying with your current setup?

I feel like I am having to lay off the current driver. My normal miss is a pull with occasional hook.

When I am hitting it well, I get carrys of 225-240

Since the R7 TP is very similar to the r510 TP. I was thinking all the set up options would be worth it.

Most likely with more loft you'll get more distance, however, from a static point of view, you might work better with a firm shaft (halfway between regular and stiff).

However, there are plenty of people that defy static charts - and you may be one of them.

I'd say go ahead and try the new club - it may be just what the doctor ordered.
