    do balls have shelf life. Any sugesstions on storage

    Actually, yes. They can collect moisture over time and that is bad. Simply putting them in sealed containers like tupperware will solve this. But we are talking about months to see any difference. So do this only if you are planning on buying a lot and using them over a year or so.

    The pros get their balls straight from the factory. We can't, so all we can do is hope for the best that the doz we picked from the shelf was not out for too long.

    I always ask the clerk/pro which batch "just came in". If he says he didn't know, then I get the doz from the top. Stock boys at golf shops are not like those at supermarkets where they always put the recent stock in the back, pro shops put the latest stock on top (easier and quicker that way).

    But until they start putting "born-on" dates on balls, its all a **** shoot. You only have control of them when you get home.

    Oh, btw...never never never leave your balls in the trunk of your car. Heat kills the compression. And also winter months, frozen balls are brittle and won't compress. So keep them in the heated car on your way to your round, then keep 2 or 3 in your pocket.
