when drivers are advertised as +1/+.5/-1/-.5 that is +1" to what is the standard that this is being measured too?

i think its like 45" or 44.5", just go look at the specs of a driver at golfsmith.com

, the standard length for a mens' driver is 45". All in the quest for more distance.
