  • Antique Clubs

    Hi folks

My Father-inlaw has just returned from one of his usual, sunday, car boot safari. He has picked up an antique set clubs . The signature on the clubs is GEORGE NICOLL and they are the PINSPLITTER range . there is a 1,2,&3 wood and 6 irons (no putter ) , they appear to be hickory shafted and the grips are wound leather.

I have searched on the usual search engines, Google and yahoo but can find very little information. i know these clubs are from aroun 1920's but thats all the information i can find.

If anybody has any information about the clubs or george nicoll , post a reply to yhis thread .
    cheers ....Terry

I'm hoping you'll be onto a winner there... If they're in good nick that is!

They are all in excellent condition. I don't know whether to try and sell them or hold on to them and try to complete the set.
              what do you think ?????

Set yourself a time limit... say 9 months, and if you haven't got the remaining clubs (or it looks like you won't be able to) sell them then.

Unless you need the money, in which case just get rid of them... I guess whoever buys them won't play a round with them...

                Good luck!

                    Hi
just to let you al know. i have decided to hang on to the clubs for a while.
i am going to attempt to recondition the woods. the irons are in excellent condition.

i have never undertaken a project like this before and could do with as much help and advice as i can get.

once i have have finished the project i am going to auction them for charity......I only paid £10.00 for them so , notheing ventured , nothing gained...Will keep you all up to date .

                    Terry
