I know this is an old can of worms (blades vs. GIP irons), but.........
I am an 18 hcp; do I need GIP irons or "swing" improvement irons? I tried the GIP for 7-8 years. Guess what, I'm still a high hcp. For the last 5-6 months, I've been hitting various types of forged blades (Mizuno MP30, Tommy Armour Silverbacks, Hogans, etc.). I get them on ebay. I can "miss" with these irons just as I did with the GIP irons; only thing, I know IMMEDIATELY where I missed. And when I catch the sweet spot, there is nothing like it!! Also, I played in a tournament a couple weeks ago, and I am beginning to strike it BETTER with the blades. With the smaller heads, there's LESS chance of missing the sweet spot. I am through with something that looks like a battle axe. I feel better now with forged. To me that means a lot. ALL my GIP irons are now on ebay: for sale!!!!!
That's my story (and I'm sticking to it!)
