  • Whats a 4+ wood?

A couple of years ago I put a Callaway Steelhead3 4+ wood in my bag, it was to bridge the gap between my driver and rescue club. I love using it but what exactly is it because when I hit it well I can reach 300 yards.

I can never remember if the + signifies weak or strong. If a standard 4 wood loft is 17°, then it might be closer to 18 or 19, if it's weak. Or if + means strong, it may be closer to 16 or 15°

+ means strong, it is probably a 16 degree club. So it is pretty close to a 3 woods 15 degrees but not quite.

Cheers guys, I had a hunch it was probably closer to a 3 wood than a 5, it certainly has the ball flight of a 3.
