  • Cleveland Ti460 Launchers

Golf Smith has the Cleveland 460 Launchers for sale and I'm thinking of buying one. My questions is they offer the following shafts, Launcher Silver Graphite, Aldilla NV65 Graphite and Pro Launch 65 Graphite.

I have a swing speed of 90, does anybody have any advise as to which shaft I should choose?

    Re: Cleveland Ti460 Launchers

My understanding for what it is worth is that primary diference is:

The Silver is a Fujikura shaft is more of a low/mid flex point

The NV-65 is a high flex point shaft = low ball flight

And the Pro Launch is a low flex point shaft = higher ball flight

So it depends more on the type of ball flight your going for, and the degree driver your looking to purchase.

Now as for the 90 swing speed your going to want a regular shaft. I would also Demo one if given the chance. I know Cleveland had one at my club maybe 6 months ago and I was amazed how I liked their standard shaft, a friend liked the NV-65 , someone else swore the Pro launch was best and some one else liked the Graffloy Maybe it is personal preference but I also think that some of those shafts are made for certain type of swings and the club loads better with that type. (smooth, power etc.)

        Re: Cleveland Ti460 Launchers

I actually have this club with an Aldila NV 65g x-stiff shaft (reshafted from the standard fujikura stiff), its a great club.

With a 90 mph swing speed you are probably best off with the silver. This standard shaft is stiffer than most standard shafts. Failing that, go for the graffalloy. Which flex you need is governed, as ogallalabob said, by the whole of your swing not just the speed.

I recently wrote an article on shafts on this site, so if you're interested have a look.
