  • ben sayers zero in

A mate of mine has just text me to say that he has been offered a set of brand new Ben Sayer Zero In clubs with a bag included. he asked me if i knew anything about the brand but i am new to golf myself and currently have cheap dunlop set of clubs myself.

does anyone know anything about these clubs, whether they are any good. he says he has been told they are similare to the MX7 if that means anything to anyone

    cheers

Ben Sayers make perfectly good clubs for the budget/game improvement range. You're not going to seen them in the hands of a tour pro but they are still an okay brand.

If they are free or nearly free, then give them a go. If your friend is a beginner he should be able to get a few years usage from these clubs.

he has been offered them by a mate of his who bought them a couple of weeks ago but won't say for how much for some reason, they are not used at all. he has offered to sell for £50, it is a full set 1-3-5wood 3-pw irons. plus a decent bag.

he is selling because he has had an accident at work apparently and lost a finger and a thumb so he doesn't think he'll be able to play at all. bearing in mind he has never played and bought these to start up, he is not really bothered about losing them.

out of interest, do you thing these clubs would be better than my Dunlop MAX set, cause if so, if my mate doesn't want them, i might get them at that price

        hi
ben sayers use to have a factory near me in north berwick and did make some good clubs for the money and are on par with dunlop, you get a lot of club for the money and if your getting a new set for £50 i would think that a steal. the shop and factory closed down a few years ago but i use to know a female pro from prestonpans that played with them and played very well too.
the have been making clubs for a very long time so i'm sure they know how to make a good club, i have never use them only seen them in the pro shop.

thanks for that. if they are only on a par with the dunlop clubs then i might give it a miss, there is no point in having 2 sets of the same quality. maybe if they were significantly better.

          cheers

                hi
ben sayer's been making clubs for over 100 years and if it the m1 clubs then they do have good reviews. there has been a few pro's won on tour with ben sayer's club's, ray floyd being one of the more well known. there benross clubs get a good review too, they do seem to be more advanced in spec then dunlop and i dont think you would lose out at £50, if you cant get along with them then sell them, i'm sure you would get more then £50 for a full set and a bag. i agree with lowpost go for it. have a look at there web site.

cheers for that, he's apparently in hospital now having some work done on his hand so it's gonna be a few days before i can get them, if they are still not sold.

if i get them i will let you know if they are any good.

this guy seems to be having a bad run of luck. while he was in hospital his home was burgled and a lot of stuff stolen, including his golf stuff
