  • Titleist 695MB or Mizuno Mp-37

I'm thinking of getting some new irons.
I'm keen on the Titelist 695MB or Mizuno Mp-37.
    Any thoughts?

Hows the frostbite in the Northern Hemisphere?

I'm looking forward to having a month off, with perfect hot summer days!

If your handicap is 25 as your profile says. I'd keep away from both of them as they are very demanding blades!

I would recommed something like the Mizuno MX-25 instead. It's still a forged club but with a nice cavity for miss hits. If you absolutely must have some blades, then go for the Mizuno MP-32 (I have some). They are true compact blades that allow you to shape the ball flight but have the most amazing feel.

If your profile is wrong and you are a low handicapper (<10) then I would say neither of them. Get your hands on the new MP-67 from Mizuno. Low ball flight like the MP-37 but with cut muscle technology.

Are they any better than the mp60's. Ima 4 handicapper so not sure which to get
Also has anyone tried the Tayloremade R7 TP irons - any better than the RAC TP's as they were on my shortlist

Mizuno's every of the week, the Titleists will rust off the end of the shaft unless you wash them in warm soapy water and coat them in oil after every single shot.

The MP37's are staggeringly beautiful clubs, but day in day out the MP60's are a little bit more forgiving (thats why I bought them).

One word though, anyone buying Mizunos, dont take them with the standard grips cos they are stinking, get one of the custom fit options (best bet are the Decade Multicompound, which I got).

A friend of mines bought the Taylor Made Tp's and they were worn smooth in 6 months. Granted he plays a lot of golf but I was shocked at how brittle the finish was. My friends are less than a year old and he needs a new 9 and wedge cos the grooves are almost gone in the impact zone. They are beautiful clubs though especially when fitted with the Project X shafts.

Oh and by the way, anyone can use blades, dont believe the hype, manufacturers just dont want people to see hackers playing with their premium product, thats why they advise high handicappers to steer clear. Call me a cynic but their profit margins are also a bit higher on the cheaper to produce cast clubs over the forged stuff.

If you can, play blades, its well worth it.
