I recently purchased a club offline, a cobra f speed. i ordered a 9*stiff but they sent an 8*stiff. Is this going to be a problem, my ss is around 100 +- 5 and the launch angle was around 11 or 12 if that sounds right with the 9* stiff . i usually have a pretty bad slice but have been working it out. My other question is can i have thew club adjusted? I know you cant change the face angle but can the loft be adjusted. I just dont want to be stuck with such a nice club and just be afraid to hit it. thanks

Re: 8* driver
an 8* is pretty low, you wont see many people (including pros) using that...
If you have any swing faults (like the slice you mention) then it will make them show up more as you will have more side spin and less backspin.
Id send it back before you use it.

Re: 8* driver
Yep, I agree on sending it back too.
Your swing speed is reasonably quick but I don't think that it will be fast enough to hit an 8 degree driver especially with a low-torque high bend point shaft like the NV.

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: 8* driver
Just because it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck doesn't mean it's a duck.
Now, after moving away from the hyberbole, just because it's stamped 8° doesn't mean it's 8°. Tolerances for loft (save the Ashton E3) are +/- 1°. It might be 7°. It might be 9°. It's certainly somewhere in between.
IMO, your launch angle seems a touch low. I'd go back and try a true 10° (although it may bring your spin up, too).
Never, ever trust the number stamped on a head. Always get your lofts checked. (or heads handpicked).

Re: 8* driver
In case you got something else than you ordered of course it makes sense to send it back. You should be interested about your launch angle not just the stamping on the clubhead. 8 degrees could be fine in case you got high launch shaft. Try to find shop with launch monitor and find out true launch angle to decide wether the clubhead suits you or not.
