  • Getting a putter shortened

    Thanks,

Without getting into the guts of it:

    Remove the current grip
    Measure to 33"
    Cut at mark
    Install grip

Yes, LP, good to see you didn't too long winded in your explanation....

At the risk of sounding whatever it is I might sound like in saying so, if you like a shorter putter, can't you just choke down on the grip a little...???

Especially if we're only talking an inch or so...???

Just thinking out loud is all......

        Cheers

Well, there's 'detail-ly' things that I left out (like methodology, how to try and save the putter grip, how to align the new one, which side of the kerf to cut on, backweighting and swingweighting - you know, those things).

But in the interim, I like your solution.

I am in the middle of tweaking my clubs and my putter espcially so I love this ?.. My ping putter is 35in and I like it around 31 or maybe even 30.5
I cut my current putter down and it feels ridicoulous on the weight of it. I would love to have the same feel at 31 as at 35 but I don't know how to accomplish this.

Lead tape. 16 grams of it.

Anywhere you like - preferably on the head and/or hosel. It's simply to get head feel back (so putting it on the shaft by the grip won't help much).
