    No mate they look much better than the Callaway, not sure whats going on with that blade.

    Also if you look at Callaway tour players now they are using a solid lump now, there is hardly any cavity with the X forged and no gap behing the lump.

    I do have one observation though: Don't you think in the modern age of top technology, nowerdays all clubs are made to exact weights and lofts etc, thus making them all EXACTLY the same, I think that all clubs on the market today are all capable of exactly the same performance.

    It's just personal taste that serpeates opinions, of course balls, lofts, shafts make the distances differ, but I bet there isn't ten yards difference in any set of clubs using the same shafts, lofts and balls........!!!

      i do think that most top makers are very close in the performance of there club head when compared to each other, but the thing i do think that sets them apart is what shaft is used. some of the big named clubs fitter with the rifle shaft it so much better than the standard shaft fitted to most and i think a lot of people never give the shaft a thought when buying clubs and take what is fitted. having the right shaft is just as important as having the right club head.

        Very true Bill,

        You are right the shaft is probably the most under rated part of club choice.

        I put a thread up last week regarding my new driver.

        It's the Taylormade TP Burner head, an Accra T50(50gram) M3(between reg and stiff but not quite firm) shaft and a Golf Pride grip the correct thickness.

          How about these "secret" Titleist blades, that really are Miuras stamped with Titleist logos and played by Tiger Woods back in the pre-Nike days?

            Oh no I was right,

            What does Tiger use now, don't tell Nike 'Blades', big Phil used the Callaway Blades last week too.

            I was right in the sense that Baldes will make a come back in a big way in 2008.

              Close but no cigar! See! The amazing shrinking lofts of the TaylorMade irons! See! A 3 iron becomes a 4 iron - which becomes a 5 iron! Stand Amazed! At how the average golfer thinks he now smokes his 5 iron 'way past' his 15 year old 5 iron!

              Iron set to iron set lofts change, lies change. Manufacturing tolerance takes care of that. But even if there were no such things as tolerances and everything came out to spec, even between companies there's no agreeing on lofts or lies or even preassembled lengths. I'll say they're all capable of the same performance assuming that you can build them all equally.

              And that said, I think you're right. As loft is the #1 determiner in distance, you won't get 10 yards spread out of any given make or model with the same loft, lie, shaft, grip size and head BBGM. Unless you're discussing extreme toe hits - in which case cavs will outshine blades.
