  • Nike SQ Tour 460 10,5. Aldila NV 65 S

Well, when one first take a look at the newest bigstick from Nike, one cannot help look at it with fascination. The perfectly shaped head, and strict, rude carve-outs on the bottom speaks to my mind a words like: "I'm long and dangerous!"
Teed up at my local range for my first Drive ever whit this mysterious Driver. Teed pretty high, took a wide swing and just let it rip!!! But what happened? This happened: The ball went 200 feet to the sky, tok a drastic turn to the right and went for the woods near the putting-green. This came as a shock to me, as I average in FW-hits around 60%, and 20% are semi-rough or bunkers, so I have pretty good control with my Drives...
Teed up again, and took a new whack at it, and the same thing happened again.... and again... and again. Others tried it, and the same thing happened. So I placed it in my bag, and use spoon for a couple of rounds, while SQ stood in the corner ashamed...

But one day, I decided to take my nemesis (still SQ... ) to the range for a new test-drive (hehe.. test-drive, funny!) and work out what the hell was wrong with me/the driver. I flattened my swing a bit, and whacked a couple of drives straight to the 200 (metres) mark on the range... This was a turning point for the relationship between me and my SQ, now I wield it somewhat correctly, and results are pretty OK.

    Summary:
Difficult Driver, but can produce pretty neat drives when hit properly. I think it lacks the final "oomph" that really blasts drives down the fairway. But should absolutely be tested... See if you can tame the sasquatch!

The SQ is like 400$ in Norway.
If I hit my 3-wood 240 (219 meters) yards, I wouldn't need a Driver at this point in time. 220 (200 meters) yards is pretty much max-length on Norwegian ranges, and not many hit much longer than the 200 meter mark on the ranges. I haven't done avg dist on the course yet, but I think it will be around 250 yards. My 3-wood avg at about 200 yards from the grass.

And I must congratulate you with your 240 yards with your friends 5-pund spoon! Maybe one day, you can afford your own...

        hi hrgruzom
didnt mean to cause offence was merely pointing out that new drivers are a lot of money and dont always perform as well as lesser clubs
BTW i have my own king cobra mspeed 3wood which goes straight and 250yds on average

Maybe you were teeing it too high. The SQ is meant to be teed up abit lower than other drivers because the CG is low and optimal, like the HiBore.
