Well, there doesn't seem to be much activity on this site. So I guess I'll respond to my own post.
These clubs are a winner. I really like everything about them. I recently won a "closest to the flag"
on a 175 yard par three. I played the 3 iron over water into a 10 to 15 mph breeze. Before this set
my three iron was in the garage.

Hey Hoganman1 - what clubs did you have prior to the Callaway x20 irons? and what is the difference that makes them better for you? It's great to hear that they are doing a job for you!

I had a set of Wilson Staff Ci6 irons. It's funny, but I got them on a closeout too. I went with graphite shafts due to some bursitis, but I'm back to steel with the x-20 Tours.

Yeah I hear ya mate, where's everybody gone, I went to another site for a few months, çame back and some of the posts I saw then are still sitting there. I am not criticising anyone but I am wondering what happened. The site was so vibrant and I even have a friend I email regularly. Maybe we need a recruitment drive, this site has so much to offer ie. without it I would not repairing and building clubs.

It's happening all over. We're actually losing golfers and new ones are not coming into the game. I'm sure the economy is a factor. Golf is very expensive. Time is probably a factor too. Everyone is working more these days and there's little time for a four to five hour activity. It's getting to be a problem for our beloved sport. Some courses here in the US are closing due to loss of revenue. Some of the private clubs are struggling to get and keep members. The retailers are hurting too. I see huge discounts on clubs, apparel, and accessories every day. Hopefully, when the economy improves golf will come back too.

Yeah, our course has gone into receivership 3 times in 5yrs. The course is great and dates back to 1906, we are a small town and struggle for members. Every time this has happened people got burned on their fees. There is another course 45 minutes away so they left. There is also a really nice par 3 that fits into peoples limited time restraints. The receivers here are a company biulding villas,they need it to survive for obvious reasons,the first thing they did was sack all the greenkeepers an staff, there has been a remarkable improvement since then.They have become very hands on this time and hold businessmen's breakfasts, special event days,you get the picture. We still have not got a pro.shop again but we will get there I hope. As far as this site is concerned it's not looking real good at the moment. If we keep posting interesting subjects it could rebound as fast as it died, such is the potential of the internet

Ps I have heard only good things about the x20s' mate, if you swing them as well as your Wilsons you will be rewarded

Thanks for the response, Golfshooter. It looks like this conversation has lasted for almost a year. It's also been nearly a year since I started playing the X20 Tours. I still love them. Now if I could just find fairway woods as good for my game. That seems to be the weakest part of my game now.

I always struggled with finding the right fairway wood. I finally found the one for me, the Callaway X Tour 13*. I know that sounds a little strong, but it has a very small head, and low center of gravity. it really gets the balls into the air. And since the face is slightly open at address, I have been able to actually shape my shots when I need to. I took 1 1/2" off of the stock shaft length, and that really helped me with control although it probably cost me a little distance.

I bought this thing on ebay a while back for $50, and I still see them at used golf shops for over $100 here in Dallas!

Is that the black one that came out a few years ago? Since I last posted I've gone back to my 2004 Big Bertha 3 and 5 with steel shafts. They seem to be helping.

For all you folks out there struggling with fairway woods, (as I have for all my 20 odd years time golfing), have you considered moving over to hybrids.All the relevant loft options are available in todays equipment market, and IMO they are much more user friendly and provide such versatility.
Give them a go - you won't regret it..................

I've tried them and for some reason I hook them off the planet. I know there is a swing flaw to blame, but it doesn't show up with the driver or the irons. I'm beginning to think it's a club weight problem. Currently I'm using an older model of steel shafted fairways and they work better. It's hard to fing steel shafted hybrids and fairway metals these days.

I have had the same issue with Hybrids in the past, but I found out it was all related to ball position ( at least for me ). I now play the ball in the middle of my stance, and swing my hybrid like its a 7 iron. This gave me great results.

That sounds reasonable. I'll give that a try my next time out. It stands to reason the ball will go straighter if one catches it before the face starts closing.
Your Bridgestones look really good. I looked at them before I bought my Callaways.
