Water hazard - Can anyone help clarify - heavy rain caused the margin of the water to exceed the marker posts and margin line.
I was playing with a pro. who stated that water "outside" the marke posts could be treated as casual water and relief could be taken from this without penalty, was I correct to disagree?

The pro is correct. The marker posts define the margins of the water hazard. Anything outside the margins is not in the hazard.

    Casual water
’’ is any temporary accumulation of water on the course that is not in a water hazard ...

Decision 25/2 Overflow from Water Hazard

Q.If a pond (water hazard) has overflowed, is the overflow casual water?
A.Yes. Any overflow of water from a water hazard which is outside the margin of the hazard is casual water.

Many thanks for clearing that up for me aaa, I couldn't get my head round the "not in a water hazard" part until I saw your post.
