  • Hi fellow golfers...long irons

Just a quick note to say hi....found this site looking for tips on hitting better long irons. A quick summary on my problem or opportunity as I like to say. I hit my short irons SW-6 pretty well and ironicly I'd say I'm a decent driver as well with a 10 handicap but I am very inconsistent with my long irons. I find I hit them better swinging more around my body (I'm 6'3") but I've always read that you should swing all clubs the same to be consistant. In other words you should have ONE swing but when I try to stick to that I can't get good results with long irons. Is it a myth? Should my swing be different for long irons? Help! Looking forward to hearing back.

Hey LSU, I've got the exact same problem. Everything I read says to swing the longs more like woods and driver, but everytime I try it, I either skull the ball, or chunk the divot further than the ball! If I find any better advice, 'Ill be sure to pass it on
